What strengths and/or experience will you bring to the Provincial Board?

Women’s Ministries is very much part of my life having served many years as an Episcopal Church Woman on various  committees and programs. The experience and knowledge of the operations on Parish, Diocesan, Provincial and National are clearly strengths to listen, manage and empower the women to carry out Christ’s work. 

What specifically qualifies you for the position you are standing for?

In 2014 was made an honorary Canon by Bishop Jon J. Bruno Diocese of Los Angeles for work with the women ministries. More recently, serving as Vice President for the Province VIII ECW. 

To whom do you turn when you need guidance and spiritual support?

My mornings begin in devotional prayer and guidance with God and my evenings with The Lord’s Prayer.  In addition, I have a good support of the Daughters in DOK Chapter plus trustful, kind, and wise Family and Friends to reach out in need of advice. I always talk and walk with God.

What strengths and/or experience will you bring to the Provincial Board?

I graduated from College of Eastern Utah – Practical Nursing Program.  My main background is in Health.  Worked as a billing clerk, medical coder and LPN.  I’m an  organized & Multi-task oriented person. 

Experience in Fundraising: Hurricane Relief in Florida, Church that burned down in North Dakota, Displaced families due to their houses that burned down, Items for church: (linen, oil candles, baskets for offerings), college students, gas for medical appointments, wood, harrow for tractor, beautification project, discretionary for clergy, and Covid-19.  Did numerous events to raise funds.

Build ECW in Fort Defiance, Arizona at Good Shepherd Mission.  Set up bylaws, policy & procedures.  Continue sewing with the ladies.

Work within budget as outlined

Worked with several Foundation such as National Indian Education, National Johnson O’Malley, San Juan Foundation, and Blue Mountain Dine 

Worked with multiple cultures & language in church and hospital/clinic settings

Pastoral ministry with spouse/priest

Covid 19 outreach response by organizing food distributions

Sew group 300 mask & surgical hats/caps

I have 13 years of organizing ECW groups in Utah and Arizona.  I have the clerical skills to assist in the life of the church and ECW.

To whom do you turn when you need guidance and spiritual support?

I turn to God and his Holy Spirit for guidance every single day.  Human-wise, I speak with and seek the support of several friends who have strong faith in God and are willing to be honest with me in all circumstances. My son John is wise and thoughtful, and I often seek guidance from him.

Served as VP to the National ECW Board for 3 years; President Province VIII for 3 years

What specifically qualifies you for the position you are standing for?

Years of serving as a delegate to Diocesan Annual Meetings, Provincial Annual Meetings, General Convention (twice as a deputy – 2009 & 2012) and delegate to six (6) Triennial Meetings (2003-2018). Understanding the nuts and bolts (and still learning) the workings of CPC and the willingness to move it forward, especially in today’s uncertainties.

To whom do you turn when you need guidance and spiritual support?

I pray daily with my Anglican prayer beads. I turn to my parish priest and also to my Diocesan Bishop. I also like to call on other strong Christian folks in my home parish.
