Opening Our Hearts
Annual Retreat and Meeting 

Episcopal Church Women of Province VIII gathered for an in-person Annual Retreat and Business Meeting at the beautiful Wasatch Center at the Episcopal Church Center of Utah for a weekend of renewal and empowerment.

Representatives from Province VIII UTO, CPC, GFS, DOK, and other ministries offered guidance, resources, and inspiration. Daryl Storey from the Diocese of Olympia returned as our musician for the retreat.

Worship with the Rev. Mary Janda, Province VIII ECW Chaplain, with a special Taize Service guided by Winifrid Follett, Diocese of Arizona, wove the Spirit through our time together.

Saturday morning opened with a Labyrinth Walk facilitated by Laura Orcutt, Diocese of Utah.

Attendees participated in two interactive sessions of Leading With Heart, the circular leadership model developed by Province VIII ECW, collaborating with Episcopal women from across the country. Resources and support are available through the Leading with Heart web page.

Local presentations included St. Elizabeth’s Art Empowers Youth program and the Good Shepherd Ogden Youth Impact Program.

A hands-on workshop gave each participant the opportunity to craft her own Anglican Rosary, and was followed by dancers from Youth Impact and the Navaho Reservation.

The retreat ended after worship at the Cathedral on Sunday Morning.
